When we moved to Maine, I was expecting the beauty of the waters edge - the views of the ocean, especially. But I was not expecting the meadows! They leave me breathless. Most of the meadow are cut for hay. There are many that are left as meadows - sanctuaries for wild life, from butterflies to bob-o-links and foxes. They have amazing color and diversity in every season.
I painted this plein-aire, standing at the meadows edge on summer morning - listening to the birds and bees, capturing all of the color of a summer meadow.
This is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are painted grey and there is a wire on the back. So it is ready to hang in your home!
