Wildflower Meadow 7. One from a series looking at this vibrant and important part of our natural eco system, one that is vital for pollinating insects and birds. Wildflower Meadows have been in decline for decades with over 90% of them lost to modern agricultural practices. My aim as an artist is to make people aware of the beauty of these natural meadows.

This new painting looks at a field of soft coloured wildflowers, contrasting with a deep sea and stormy sky. The sun has lit up the flowers in the foreground.

The flowers have been painted in a loose semi impressionistic style. There are many layers of detail. Different coloured flowers and grasses. A tangle of nature at its best, natural and at one with the environment.

This is a square painting on deep sided canvas. It is painted in acrylics. The surface is very lightly textured. This is something I do on many of my paintings, as it enhances the details. The sides are painted white.

The painting comes ready to hang.
