THIS PAINTING HAS NOW SOLD, ON ART2ARTS GALLERY.
My fifth wildflower meadow painting. This one focuses on the beauty of meadow wildflowers against a background of trees. The grass is full of poppies, cornflowers, daisies and cow parsley.
It is painted in a semi realistic, partly impressionistic style. It bursts with colour, and is an optimistic and happy painting. The canvas is slightly textured, to add to the visual; appeal of nature.
The canvas is painted white on the sides. The work is ready to hang.
I was very impressed and inspired by wildflower meadows on a recent holiday to Slovenia. Plus I had seen some fantastic ones in Switzerland a couple of years ago. I was utterly dismayed to learn that a huge 97% of natural wildflower meadows have been lost/destroyed/removed in the UK in the past 100 years. They are essential to pollinating insects. Therefore I am determined to help preserve them, and draw peoples attention to the beauty of them. So, as an artist, my first step is to paint them, and hope others appreciate how important they are in the environment....and how beautiful they are.
