Original artwork description:

The fourth painting in my series looking at the beauty of wildflowers.

This one shows a summer meadow. It focuses on sun and shadow .It is painted in a classic impressionistic style. Lots of overlaid layers of paint. It is an optimistic and happy painting.

The work is done in acrylic on lightly textured canvas. The sides are painted white. It is ready to hang.

I was very impressed and inspired by wildflower meadows on a recent holiday to Slovenia. Plus I had seen some fantastic ones in Switzerland a couple of years ago. I was utterly dismayed to learn that a huge 97% of natural wildflower meadows have been lost/destroyed/removed in the UK in the past 100 years. They are essential to pollinating insects. Therefore I am determined to help preserve them, and draw peoples attention to the beauty of them. So, as an artist, my first step is to paint them, and hope others appreciate how important they are in the environment....and how beautiful they are.
