The painting is unframed.
This painting represents the South on this series, The artist wants to show the similarity between the cottages in different countries and landscapes however both very dramatic. This little cottage its in Highlands where the wilderness brings calm, peace and the beautiful and dramatic scenery delights me to the end. The contrast of bright colours with the absence of the sky leaving the background in dark grey near black, makes this collection unique. The technique of dark background was used in the old art schools for portraits and classic of life paintings, However the artist understood would be great in these landscapes.
