The peony flower is such a beautiful thing - its mass of curling petals and depth of colours creating a feast for the eyes. This painting captures this intensity of experience at a large scale. It's one of my 'Poetic Floral' series of large oil paintings of flowers.

The title refers to words from Oscar Wilde that inspired my work on this piece - "a flower blossoms for its own joy". Every time I look at this painting I feel my soul lifted and find myself lost in the moment as the petals dance and weave in front of me, describing their joy at being alive.

The original painting is now sold, however the work is now available as a beautiful, limited edition giclee print. These prints are made using the giclee printing process to ensure wonderful brightness and intensity of colour. The paper is highest-quality Hahnemuhle German Etching paper, which has a lovely feel and wonderful matte finish. Each print is signed and numbered on the front.

The prints are sold unframed and will be sent to you rolled in a sturdy postal tube.
