How does it feel to swim, not in the chemical safety of the pool or from the crowded beach, but in the deep cool solitude of the river, you can't see what lies below, the water is a silky, peaty balm, there are hidden dangers & pleasures in equal measure.
This abstract painting seeks the spirit of wild swimming - a place to find ones thoughts.

Heavily textured with torn paper, oil pastel, slicks of enamel rubbed back, it is full of details to delight in over time. It is painted on a wooden panel, sealed with an acrylic medium for protection and is ready to hang without framing, the edges painted black.
