ABOUT THE PAINTING
The wild or crazy cucumber (Ecballium) became the subject of my new painting. Cucumbers look incredibly beautiful in the Sun, when bright crimson light illuminates these villi. Like circles of fire. It is a cross between a cucumber and a zucchini loofah

The plant is medicinal and poisonous if consumed raw. Inside it has a soft skeleton similar to a sponge with black seeds similar to pumpkin seeds. I am simply obsessed with it, I really like how these cucumbers look in nature, in the decor. In my village, this plant overgrows everything near lakes, trees, hops, nettles, it is simply impossible to pass by without admiring this phenomenon. North America is considered the homeland of these cucumbers, from where the plant was brought to Europe. There are many species of Ecballium, of different colors and textures.
