A portrait of a Lusitano horse capturing that moment when you step into the stable - friend or foe?
In keeping with my "abstract side" I decided to keep the background white rather than use dark colours. It is one of the first pieces that I started to use the grisaille underpainting technique and then building up slowly the colours with thin transparent glazes of paint. It's a technique usually done with oils but it can be done with acrylics!
This piece on a box canvas 4cm deep with white sides ie the image of the horse is not wrapped round the sides
acrylic paints
