Painting "Who I am III" is from the Artists series "River meets sea". Inspired by childhood memories of fishing for mackerel with her father on the estuary in Exmouth, Devon, UK. In this series, which she often returns to, she aims to convey a mood, an atmosphere, a saudade for the viewer, ( an emotional state of melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for a beloved yet absent something or someone). Saudade derives from the Latin word for solitude), whilst continuing to explore the balance of spontaneity and controlled intention during the painting process.
Painting is ready to hang and shows small signs of the working process to the canvas edge.
