'White Neon in Gold Spiral' is the largest wall-based neon sculpture I've made to date. It was shown for the first time at The Other Art Fair in New York, November 2019.
The sculpture is made from highly polished copper which has been plated with 24ct gold and the bright white neon acts as a focal point for the piece. The wall backing is made from steel which has been powder coated (industrially painted) matte black. The black disk appears to hover away from the wall, which is be seen in the detail images.
On the back there are two holes in the piece which allows the piece to sit flush agaist the wall and secure. The most aesthetic way of displaying the piece is to have the sculpture wired in so no wires are visible (like in the images), otherwise there will be a black/white cord leaving the bottom of the circle running to the nearest socket.
