Original artwork description:

This piece is a close-up cropped view of three white Lisianthus flowers at varying stages of bloom, from bud to fully opened. The layers of oil glazes create a rich, delicate texture, to the piece, reminiscent of the velvety feel of the petals.

The bold, layers of white standing out against the smooth ombre crimson-black background, the colours of which seem to transform depending on the lighting from black to a rich crimson red.

Using minimal pigments in my work, I create a consistency and complementary palate that is calming, and soothing on the eye.

Caring for houseplants is recommended to ease loneliness and improve our mental health. These flowers are from a bouquet gifted to me, and were the last blooms to survive long after the others withered.

The piece is framed in a black stained wooden frame and comes ready to hang.
Framed dimensions are 46 x 56 cm, unframed 40 x 50 cm.
