Painted on location on the outskirts of the North Yorkshire village of Carlton Husthwaite this is a view in early May across rapeseed fields towards Kilburn and the White Horse. The painting is expressive and gestural and catches the vibrancy of the spring view with the bright acid yellow of the rapeseed set against the distant blue/purple hills.
