This view of Whitby is from the steep Abbey steps looking back down to the cobbled streets and shops below, and across the bay to the Georgian town houses of the new town.
Packed with tourists on a sunny day, the town of Whitby is famous for its Abbey, Bram Stokers Dracula, and for where Captain Cook learn’t seamanship. It’s quaint streets and independent shops and port make it a popular destination. With traditional fish and chips, boat trips tea rooms and ice creams it’s a typical seaside town.
I’ve really enjoyed playing with the colours and added those typical pastel that make you instantly think of the British seaside.
This is an 11 colour hand pulled silk screen print in A1 size. A limited edition of 32.
Italian Canaletto Bianco 300gms paper, Acrylic paint.
