Original artwork description:

• Acrylic painting with India ink, on deep stretched canvas
• 50cm x 50cm (4cm deep)
• Clean white sides for a finished look, ready to hang

“Whitby Blues” is an abstract original painting that embodies the artist's love of her locallandscapes with her passion for geology. Inspired by the Whitby coastline of dark shale cliffs and beach, the brilliant blues of the sea and sky frame the calm deep shadows. Japanese-inspired painted ink lines create patterns of line reaching out into the water.

Delicate layers of soft, atmospheric blues mist around the central motif. The soothing colours and atmospheric energy of this piece would create a calming space in any home.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, India ink, graphites
