Artwork inspired by a Celtic legend in which the deer (Damh) was considered an auspicious omen when something new was about to begin, as a creature of the beginning of Time, a magical guide and messenger of the fairies, because of its character as an intermediary between the human and the divine/fairy worlds. It was called a “psychopomp” animal, meaning it had the task of guiding souls to the Afterlife, and was juxtaposed with the time of Samhain, a time of year when the veil between worlds becomes thinner, allowing exchanges between dimensions. The Deer brings qualities of majesty and integrity, offering a new sense of balance and protection.
