Original artwork description:
An imagined nocturne of Venice. Part of a series of small paintings from earlier this year when I was trying out some new approaches as well as practising painting clouds. I wanted a bright full moon-lit view of La Serenissima when the clouds can still be seen just after dusk. A vaporetto quietly sails across the foreground.I also wanted a more painterly quality which I achieved by avoiding overworking and painting in a quick alla prima way.
