Original artwork description:

The artwork depicts a still life featuring two bottles. One bottle is upright with a blue cap, partially filled with milk. The other bottle lies horizontally in front of the upright bottle and has a bright pink bottle cap set in front. The bottles are painted against a dark, subdued background, emphasizing the contrast and light reflections on their surfaces. The composition and use of light highlight the textures of the glass and the shapes of the bottles, creating a realistic and contemplative scene.

While the scene is realistic and seems contemplative, the idea is not contemplative. Plastic is a resource that lasts for 100's of years, never fully breaks down, yet we use it and then toss it. In dairy products it makes much more sense to buy our milk in bottles and then return the bottles, or reuse them in our homes to store juice, flowers, iced-tea, even dried beans and rice.

I paint primarily small, intimate works as they can be placed in any setting and are priced for affordability.

People describe my work as calming and soothing the soul. I hope each of my pieces does that for you.

To keep costs down, this comes unframed but should fit in a standard frame.
The painting will be varnished, wrapped in waxed paper, and packing material to prevent damage. I try to use recycled materials whenever possible in shipping. I do not ship outside of the United States.

As an artist I am most interested in capturing how light wraps around and over forms. Light works like water in a stream - there are sections where the light will... Read more
