Original artwork description:

Losing both my parents barely six months apart has been the catalyst for my latest figurative series. Birds began appearing in my work during and after my Mum’s harrowing battle with MND and of these, the owl seems to be more prevalent – perhaps because it is seen as a harbinger of death. However as time begins to blunt the pain, I prefer to see the owl as a custodian of the wisdom required to navigate my grief.
