Painted during lockdown. On the face of it a joyful, boozy scene. However I wanted to reflect the emotional and mental traumas that will effect us all to some degree or another. The idea of being isolated - even in a crowd. I feel the figures all have their own stories to tell. I deliberately skewed the horizon and framed the mid-ground to give the impression of the letter box format of a movie screen to reflect the surreal nature or us attempting to reintegrate.
