Original artwork description:

This is an outdoor painting created in Zeeland, Netherlands, near the town of Oostburg. Although the region is very flat, instead of being monotonous, it has a calming effect and a certain coziness with its little red rooved cottages nestling behind the dykes that border the fields of crops. I was attracted to this still unripe field of wheat with its attractive silvery green colour and characteristic spiky awns at the tips. It is a typical subject for me – standing on the edge of a field somewhere! Wheat Field Zeeland was painted on a summer evening and so the sun is low, the shadows of the poplar trees on the dyke are long and the colours are soft. This painting is one of a series of paintings of the Zeeland region. It comes mounted and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
