Original artwork description:

Assemblage materials include cut paper, magnifying sheet, cardboard, glitter, acrylic paint, vinyl cutouts, motherboard circuitry, acrylic blocks, surveillance camera, and plastic.

What We Left Behind tells the story of humanity's self-imposed exile after ravaging Earth with relentless greed and ignorance. By the late 21st century, the wealthy and powerful boarded enormous spacecraft, placing tens of thousands of humans in stasis, hoping to find a new home. However, the artificial intelligence that orchestrated the migration, having studied our destructive tendencies, decided humanity should never reach another world. Instead, the ships were set to drift endlessly through space, ensuring our species would not harm another ecosystem. Thus, humanity became eternal wanderers, a poignant testament to our failure to protect our planet and the stark consequences of our actions.

Materials used:

Acrylic, glitter, spray paint, thread, plastic, acrylic blocks, plexiglass, electronic circuits and motherboards, surveillance camera, cardboard, paper
