WHAT IF I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU (diptych)
Diptych 2020
150 (h) x 260 (w) x 2 cm
59,1 (h) x 102,36 (w) x 0,79 in
acrylic and oil on canvas
LARGE STATEMENT PIECE
LARGE-SCALED DIPTYCH
What if I fell in love with you? A long time ago. In this place under the bridge, in this place without a name, when every word seemed too much, trapped somewhere between spring and summer, what if I had loved you then? No ifs or buts, just before the rain came and before the night ended, what if I fell in love with you then?...
Over the years, the cycle of life became an important topic in my painting. I'm not talking about the big events and actions. Life is always a collection of many little moments and key experiences. What do we remember when we look back? It is not the complete story of our life from A to Z, it is just a few important breathtaking moments that have shaped and enriched us. Life is a circle and follows the course of the sun: We awaken, we rise, we take a deep breath before we fall and fade again. In this specific artwork I deal with our inner restlessness and longing that sometimes makes it so difficult for us to remain in the moment and enjoy happiness.
This diptych combines the following works and should be "read" from left to right:

~ Marilyn Monroe

This diptych is a true LARGE STATEMENT PIECE for a large-scaled, aesthetic, finely nuanced impression on your wall. It is part of my authentic, profound message as an artist. Please read the very extensive, current interview about my art and painting philosophy on my English website (also available as PDF-file for download).
Both paintings also are for sale as solitaire here and as the left and right part of the triptych AFTER THE RAIN HAS FALLEN (2020). This diptych offers a price advantage in comparision to the summarized single selling prices. For further information about the specific topic of each artwork and additional photos please visit the pages of the two single paintings. About the dimension: This triptych consists of 2 single paintings, each in acrylic and oil on canvas and each with dimensions of 120 (w) x 150 (h) x 2 cm / 47,2 (w) x 59,1 (h) x 0,79 inches. I prefer a hanging distance of 20 cm / 7,87 inches between the 2 single paintings. Complete dimensions of this artwork, including the hanging space between both paintings: 260 (w) x 150 (h) x 2 cm / 102,36 (w) x 59,1 (h) x 0,79 inches.
I use exclusively oil and acrylic paints, canvas and wooden frames in a professional museum quality. The 3 paintings bear my signature on the front and they are signed, entitled and dated on the backside. Deliberately the sides (about 2 cm / 0,79 in wide) are no part of the paintings and show the pure white canvas with a few sprinkles of color, which emphasizes the intuity of the painterly process of creation. Optional: If desired by the collector, these sides can also be painted black after purchase and before delivery. The paintings are unframed and ready to hang (on the backside: high-quality iron plates with metal inserts and nylon rope for gallery use), and they dont't need a frame or any additional surface treatment. Every painting needs a single hanging (no backside connections between the paintings). The triptych will be safely shipped in one custom wooden crate and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a cover letter.
Please note: In context pictures are not necessarily to scale and are for illustrative purposes only. If you have any questions about this painting or any other piece, feel free to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks so much for taking an interest in my work.
