Original artwork description:

"What Goes Around (B & W)" is a large curvy abstract from a series of 15 paintings based on spirals in the natural world. Dozens of times I hiked past this crazy, photogenic, spirally vine. I'd anticipate its hugeness, twisting gracefully into the sky, gifting me with an enticing new view. Then one day, it was gone. I knew it was an invasive species whose desire would've eventually smothered its host tree. I knew it didn't belong. Or did it? It's the inspiration for this series, after all.

In nature, spirals are the embodiment of strength and beauty. Throughout the natural world, from seashells to galaxies, to the foundation of all life—DNA, spirals have several patterns that can be mathematically described, such as the familiar Fibonacci sequence.

As a meditative process, silence + painting + spirals has rhythm that reflects a simple honesty. Each work is a glimmer that can restore your sense of joy, wonder, and connection. That's the root of of this series and the purpose of my painting.

Full size is 60H x 93W inches, leaving ample canvas to stretch on deep stretcher bars to its 54H x 87W x 2D image as shown. It is signed on back and ships in a tube. This is especially safe for oversized works. Rolled canvas can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer upon arrival. This painting is lovely on its own or next to the painting from this series entitled, "Black and Ecru" to create a very large, mural sized painting (approximately 15 ft. wide, total). Please see additional photos for details.

acrylic
