Artwork description:

This is a hand pulled drypoint print from my 'What are you looking at?' collection, number 9 in a variable edition of 30.

This drypoint is produced by hand-drawing the design into a sheet of plastic (plate) and then the plate is inked up using the 'intaglio' method.

This work is very much inspired by the 'attitude' portrayed in fashion photography and is created in response to the images seen in magazines such as ID, AnOther and Vogue. It is a celebration of women and our strength, and a reflection on the beauty in each and every one of us.

Each print in this edition of 30 is produced as a variable edition - the effect produced when rubbing away the ink and the subtle changes in ink colour all go to ensure that despite being in an edition, that each print is in itself unique.

Materials used:

Oil based printmaking inks printed on 300gsm Somerset printmaking paper
