Original artwork description:

I've gone back to the sweet shop for my latest pop art food painting. This unframed A3 piece depicts the classic British sweet, a Wham Bar, coming out of it's ripped packaging and curling around the paper to a point where it's been bitten.

The Wham Bar is a really chewy pink fruit juice-flavoured sweet mixed with colourful sugary crystals of popping candy. They remind me of my childhood but you can still buy them today.

As ever with classic sweets the packaging was always very eye-catching and well designed and the Wham Bar is no different. That's why I always like to include the wrapping in my paintings if possible.

The end result is a bold bright painting that would brighten up any room in your home, or would make an ideal gift for someone with a sweet tooth.

It is painted in acrylics and Posca paint pen on thick high quality A3 paper. PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a black A3 frame for display purposes. Message me for potential framed buying options.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield, and by modern day graphic designers and food packaging.
