A humpback whale as it breaks through the surface of the water. The whale's body is elongated and distorted, with bold brushstrokes of blues, whites, and purple creating a sense of movement and energy. Water droplets fly off the whale's skin, with the use of impasto and palette knife to create the effect of splashes. It is dynamic and evocative, giving a sense of the power and grace of the humpback whale as it breaches the water.

This is an original oil painting created in my studio, Vancouver, Canada.
Signed on the front and stamped, titled, and dated on the back.
