After a storm the waves on Porthleven beach, Cornwall, were huge, easily 10 feet tall, rolling in as if they were giant monsters landing on the beach. The shapes within the waves were amazing, waves within waves, shapes and patterns that I do not often see in a 'normal' wave breaking on the beach. Fantastic shapes, I have tried to reacreate some of them in this painting. The title comes from the song 'Wet Sand' from the Red Hot Chili Peppers album 'The Getaway'; I listen to music loudly while painting and sometimes a title suggests itself.
Large panoramic box canvas, ready to hang, painting continues around sides.
