Here is the second in my series of paintings based on Westonbirt Arboreteum.

This shows a single tree silhouetted against autumn foliage. I have focused on the effect of sunlight through the foliage. This picks up all the many colours of the leaves. I particularly liked the shape of this tree. Its strange when you are surrounded by trees, that one just seems more attractive to paint than others! However, the open swirling shape of this one definitely caught my eye.

This is painted in acrylic, in an impressionist style. It's on paper, mounted on to card, to keep it stable. I have added a mount , so it is ready for framing. It fits a 16 x 20 inch frame. This is a standard size, so you can easily buy a frame of your choice. I have shown an example of it in a black frame, to give you an idea of the finished look.
