I took my first trip to the west coast (Santa Barbara, California) and was mesmerized by the waves. I took a lot of reference photos there as we worked our way north along the pacific coast highway. This particular wave caught my attention and I tried to reproduce it's crashing , rolling movement as it hit the shallows and started to implode.
