An original handmade and signed linocut print showing a view of part of the front of Wells Cathedral in Somerset.

This is from a very small edition of 9. I printed this scene using the reduction method - using one lino block for all the colours. The lino block was destroyed by the process, so 9 prints and a couple of test prints are all there is.

Printed with water based inks on acid-free paper by rubbing the back of the paper with a baren and a wooden spoon!

The image is just under A4 in size and is signed and editioned in pencil at the bottom by me, the artist. It comes ready mounted in soft white mount with a backing board so all you need to do is frame it and hang it on your wall. It will fit a standard 12" x 16" frame (30cm x 41cm - roughly A3).

I grew up in Somerset and often return there. Wells is a familiar destination - a small town with a huge cathedral set in attractive grounds. I plan to explore the medieval history of Wells further in the future in my printmaking.
