Portrait of the modfather Paul Weller.
I had to take a portrait workshop for an art society, during which I demonstrate my process. I generally choose a face that has good structure so that I can demonstrate how lines create wonderful shapes... especially with subjects that are quite mature in age.
Paul Weller was my chosen subject on this occasion.
I found the background pattern on a shirt listed for sale on a mod clothing website, and thought it was a good masculine pattern.

Deep edge canvas, edges painted black. Signed both front and reverse.

A must for Paul Weller/ Jam fans.
