Original artwork description:

This is the view entering the town of Telluride, nestled at the end of a lush canyon and surrounded by some of Colorado’s most rugged peaks.
It is tucked into a box canyon surrounded by 13,000 and 14,000-foot peaks, and is the most beautiful spot of the Rocky Mountain high country. Immerse yourself in this rugged landscape of the town with an authentic mountain character.

I painted this piece during the Telluride Plein Air event a few years back.
En plein air is a French expression which means “in the open air”, and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors to capture the light and colors particular to a location.
