Original artwork description:

The headdress - crown of Russian beauties.
Kokoshnik is an ancient Russian headdress in the form of a rounded shield around the head or a fan. The first use of this word is recorded in the XVII century.
Kokoshnik is a part of the Russian costume of married rich women.

The painting shows a a stylized Wedding kokoshnik. Special attention was paid to the decoration of the kokoshnik. In the middle, as a rule, there was a stylized "frog" - a symbol of fertility. on the sides - figures of swans-symbols of marital fidelity.

The wedding dress of the ancient Slavic beauties was bright red or pink, decorated with silver or gold embroidery, decorated with pearls and beads. Therefore the Kokoshnik I made in red using a silver leaf.

Materials used:

Acrylic, Silver leaf
