This is a heavily textured and multi-layered painting, inspired by the hilly landscape above the Ceiriog Valley, with its network of drystone walls and sheep fencing, and the hilltops beyond. It is based on my sketches on a very sunny but very cold day recently.
I used principally acrylics, oil pastels, Inktense sticks, charcoal and pencil, and also layered, partially removed and cut into the work to create a textured and weathered feel to the painting.
Please note: the painting is not framed, but the second photo shows it in a frame for illustration purposes.
