Original Oil Painting, Ready to Hang

This original oil painting is on artists board. In this new series of paintings, I extend the picture area to cover the whole frame, thus including it in the compositional considerations of the painting.
The painting is varnished with layers of gloss varnish for protection and a gentle sheen. The painting is framed in an antique gilt wooden frame, traces of which can still be seen. The frame that has been painted as described above and is fitted with hanging fixtures making it completely ready to hang. Parts of the moulding from the frame are missing, adding to its shabby chic charms. Decorative cut-outs line the edges of the frame.
