Artwork description:

Part of a project exploring perceptions of rural space through images which render the natural world in a deliberately complex and confusing way. Shot on 35mm film, using multiple exposures, scenes of simple natural beauty are transformed into kaleidoscopic and hallucinatory representations of an environment which exists outside of human control despite all attempts to tame it for our own purposes. In these images, regimentally-planted forests become bewildering and somewhat sinister mazes, while hedgerows restricted by mechanised agriculture and tarmac become wild and towering masses of flora and fauna.

The work seeks to amplify the experience of environmental interactions and question the significance of human development within the wider planetary ecosystem which adapts to the destructive influences of mankind and persists in many ways not because of, but despite us. The project, and each single image, represents an invitation to consider our position in relation to the environment and our place within it, both individually and collectively, locally and globally.

This is print 1 of 25. Brand new and exclusive to Artfinder. Limited edition of 25 prints across all sizes and finishes (plus two 24x16in artist's proofs). Each print is individually hand-signed and numbered.

The photograph is available either as unmounted prints in a range of sizes from 12x8 inches [30x20cm approx.] to 24x16 inches [61x41cm approx.], and also in ready-to-hang options of 18x12 inch [46x30cm approx.] traditional gallery wrap canvas or modern aluminium mounting. All are produced by an award-winning lab using only the finest quality materials.

Other sizes for unmounted prints of this piece are 12x8in (£60), 15x10in (£80), 24x16in (£125). Also available as gallery-wrap canvas (18x12in £160), and aluminium mounted (18x12in £185).

Please contact me to request size or finish options not already in my store. Or if you don't see the size and/or finish you want, please get in touch...other options may be available.

Unmounted prints come on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl 285 g/m² paper (or equivalent as appropriate), printed with Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks for true museum quality and colourfastness certified for 100 years. These are absolutely the finest quality prints to be found, used by professional photographers when only the best will do, and loved by art collectors for their stunning detail in highlight and shadow as well as depth of tone. All prints come with a wide border for easy mounting and framing.

Gallery wrap canvas prints are produced using the same Epson K3 inks as my paper prints, on heavyweight 100% cotton canvas, to create pieces with richness and luminosity along with a wonderfully tactile texture. They are stretched onto a frame made from sustainable wood, reinforced for stability and fitted with robust metal fixings for easy hanging

Aluminium mounting is the ultimate ready-to-hang enhancement to your home decor, a spectacular image and a sleek and modern mounting system which creates a stunning piece of gallery standard artwork. The photograph is professionally lab-printed onto Fuji Crystal Archive DPII paper using a traditional photo-chemical process, then mounted and sealed on a 3 layer aluminium substrate (for superb stability and warp-resistance). Finally, a UV-protective coating is applied to protect the print. Wall-fixings are pre-fitted, so the piece is ready to hang straight away.

Please be aware that quality of this kind takes a little time. Turnaround times vary from 7 business days for unmounted prints to 10 business days on average for canvas and aluminium mounting, after which I take delivery of the work for inspection before shipping to you. Guaranteed to be worth the wait!
