The painting "We are not ok at all. Flood." depicts a building with 100 real windows that was damaged when the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam was blown up by russian forces on June 6, 2023. As a result of this event, more than one and a half dozen cities and villages were underwater, people died, and mass destruction of flora and fauna occurred.
This picture is the story of not only a terrible ecocide, but also about the courageous actions of people who, despite the danger of drowning, saved people and animals. The picture at the top left shows a grandmother to whom a bag of grain floated downstream and she was able to escape with a goat, a dog and a rooster. She fed the goat grain, and the goat gave milk, so they were able to survive for three days before the evacuation. On the right in the picture on the roof is the famous window in which water was brought to mother and child by drone. Next to them are two men who refused to evacuate and decided to stay on the roof until the water went away in order to restore everything. During the evacuation, the russian army continued shelling, unfortunately people came under fire on boats..
It is very painful for us to see all this and we ourselves cannot cope with the destruction after the russian attacks. During the flood, an entire zoo died in the Kherson region, crops were destroyed, houses were destroyed, and people died..
