Original artwork description:

ARCHIVAL WORK.

Completed during my first year of university. I was struggling to get into university, given the diagnosis of my fathers illness, therefore, I spent a lot of time at home helping out and adjusting to the new circumstances.

Materials were scarce, I was also slightly scared of getting paint on the carpet! I went into the attic and found all my craft material from my childhood. I needed a bit of fun and play so I decided to elevate these stereotypically 'low' materials into the fine art setting. So, I completed small textile pieces on my embroidery hoop, incorporating pompoms, sequins and googly eyes; I then assembled these onto stretched canvas.
Over 150 hours later, sewing in front of the tv or in a depressive slum in bed, I completed this rather cheerful piece.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this, although the process was bittersweet.
Moreover, I hope someone is able to appreciate it in their home or wherever and remember better times are always to come.

If bought I will get it professionally framed. It does need a frame for it to be hung and shown properly, so that is something I would definitely sort out!

Materials used:

Acrylic, pen, thread and various embroidery material.
