Wattle blossoms call out to be painted.
The first wattle blossoms of 2020 have arrived. Wattle trees feature beautiful yellow blossoms, and tell us that spring is not far away. They are such happy looking flowers.
Australia has 1000 species of wattle and Australia's national floral emblem is Acacia pycnantha, the Golden Wattle.
Many parts of the wattle tree are used by Australia’s indigenous population. The seeds are ground and made into damper. The bark and leaves provide medicines, and the wood can be used to make weapons.
