The second of four oil on panel artworks made while exploring the River Ericht in Blairgowrie, Perthshire. The viewpoint is from the top of the Brooklinn dam which provides energy for the adjoining mill, now an exclusive self-catering let.
The River Ericht is one of Scotland's favourite salmon fishing rivers. It rises from the confluence of the Rivers Ardle and Blackwater at Bridge of Cally and flows for 10 miles to its confluence with the River Isla at Coupar Angus. The Ericht surges through the Craighall Gorge to the north of Blairgowrie which is the deepest gorge in Scotland and home to rare species of lichen therefore a site of special scientific interest.
