The Inspiration: Much of my work plays on the elements of texture and movement, pieces like “Watermelon Splash” specifically emphasize the textural elements that naturally come along with oil paintings. Using only one firm-bristled brush, each brush stroke retains its shape and texture; the repetitive motion and descending intensity from black to white always reminds me of rain.
