Original artwork description:

I wanted to capture the natural bright colours of my favourite fruit in an exaggerated, flat, pop art style. I'd previously painted this on it's own but had the idea to create a repeating watermelon slice pattern set against a lemon yellow background. This is a smaller version of an original larger piece available elsewhere in my shop.

The shape of each watermelon was originally traced from a stencil but all of the finished painting was done by hand. It's all painted in acrylic paints on a block canvas that's ready to hang. It can be displayed any way up, whatever suits you.

The painting is fairly small at 15cm x 15cm, or 5 inches by 5 inches. It is a block canvas 1.5 centimetres thick so is ready to hang as pictured. I feel it would look particularly good in a kitchen (as pictured in mine) but also living room, bedroom, or in a quirky cafe, restaurant, or pub.

Postage will be first class and packaged flat with bubble wrap.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, and more modern artists/designers like Kate Moross and Pete Fowler.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask me. I can also do paintings to order - use the commission button to get in touch.

Materials used:

Acrylic Paint, Paintbrush, Canvas
