This painting depicts the gentle mesmerizing movements that dance to the rhythm of the sea whilst evoking a real sense of calm and tranquillity. The meticulous blending of the paint, sometimes creating abstract shapes, provides a fairly smooth surface that encapsulates the fluidity of the water surface.

I think I am very lucky to have seen the sea virtually every day of my life, it thrills me to paint it and I never tire of painting it. And to put that into some form of context I began painting close ups of just water in the 1970s.
