I made this artwork as part of a series, which is all done in my author's unique painting technique.
The essence of this technique is that I cover the canvas with a colored textural underpainting, on which I apply subsequent painting layers. The underpainting shows through in some places of the painting and along the edges, which makes the whole image vibrate with a radiant color.
Using brushes of different hardness, palette knives, and even fingers, I play with textures. The texture of the painting layers is variegated, with the natural graininess of the canvas and a thick pasty layer of paint. This creates an effect of depth, volume of an artwork, emphasizes the play of light and color.
