Description for the painting:
This is a lotus, and I painted it from life in the Palmengarten park. The size is rather large for plein air but I think I managed well. In summer, the energy of the sun inspires creativity.
I had always wanted to paint these wonderful flowers while strolling along this small pond. I used to photograph them, but as usual, those photos just ended up somewhere on a hard drive, forgotten. Painting from life, however, is entirely different; it captures the value of the lived moment. It is infused with the energy of that time and the artist’s inspiration. That’s why I love painting so much—it breathes life into everything.
