The colour of summer...

This is a monotype, a one-off handmade print developed from a holiday sketch. I apply etching inks onto a plate with rollers, brushes and card and then remove areas with a cloth before pulling it through an etching press just once. This artwork is as unique as an oil on canvas; it only comes under the printmaking umbrella as it is pulled through a press, so I often refer to monotypes as 'printed paintings'. This is a technique I love because of the textures and light effects I can achieve.

This will be carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue, loosely rolled into a thick-walled 10cm wide cylinder and shipped signed and tracked within four days.
