Original artwork description:

My wildlife paintings range from detailed realism to expressive 'in context' paintings, which portray the animal in its natural environment. This simple study of a Eurasian eagle owl is intended purely to convey the beauty of these magnificent birds; always watching, with bright, piercing eyes. The plain dark background, evoking the night time world of the owl, provides contrast and gives emphasis to the subject with its striking feather markings. Painted in acrylics on stretched canvas it is varnished and ready to hang without a frame. It may also be framed if preferred and a large frame would set the painting off beautifully.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, varnish
