This is a reduction linocut print exploring my favourite rock at Watchet Beach looking out towards Wales across the Bristol Channel.
The print is an explorative piece as I work towards a limited edition set of prints that explore this rock I like to visit - imagining Samuel Taylor Coleridge might have also sat and seen this rock during his time visiting Watchet. Watchet is also famous for one of William Turner's watercolour paintings of the town looking towards Minehead.
Using varying pressure I have created a print that pulls the previously laid ink up from the surface, revealing the hidden layers underneath, as well as allowing it to form a worn look, adding to its aesthetic and capturing a sense of time through the ages.
This is a limited edition print run of two prints that I felt were successful out of the six that were initially produced.
