This artwork belongs to a series called "Natural Flags", which are landscapes inspired by the work of landscapers, they can also be from trips I have made, or by photographs of places I have seen in magazines, on the internet, or listening to music.
This flag or landscape of more or less abstract shapes has a white background because it represents a sunrise.
This landscape or flower is a small tribute to all the painters who, like Warhol, have painted flowers, with the thousands of meanings they can have, sometimes sad, such as the irremediable passage of time and the fragility of life, death, in the way it has been painted in many still lifes or vanitas, but also with its positive characteristics, such as the joy of its color, its fragrance, the gift between people who love each other, etc.
Therefore, flowers have a double meaning, sad or joyful. It will depend on the moment if a flower is given to celebrate and increase the positivism of an already happy situation, or if it is intended that the flower, with its positive characteristics, be a kind of remedy to cure some kind of sad or troubled situation.
That is why I believe that flowers, like a kind of small stars that live with us and are so necessary for the cycle of life, I believe that they are one of the beings that can best represent what art is in these two facets, that of brighten and improve the life of those close to you, whether they are happy or not.
That is why the title of this work, which refers to Warhol but also to “War”, to that war that must be waged to get out of bad times, always hand in hand with something positive like a flower, given as a gift but better in its place, without being cut.
No frame is needed, because the canvas has 3 cm deep painted edges.
